HAIRY SITUATIONS; 2003

This series explores the fluid nature of human connection, disconnection, and shifting power dynamics through watercolor and human hair. Watercolor represents the malleability and unpredictability of relationships, while human hair stands for the connecting wires to our thoughts evoking intimacy and fragility. Together, they illustrate how we are both bound and shuffled by unseen forces, constantly navigating a delicate balance between unity and chaos. In these surrealistic landscapes,  the outlines that give shape to figures and forms are made of human hair and therefore appear fragmented or displaced, reflecting the ever-changing power structures that shape our identities and interactions. The work invites reflection on how connection can empower and limit us, and how power itself is fluid—always in motion, always subject to change.
