FLOWERS & SHADOWS, 2011
In the Flowers & Shadows series, black-and-white printed photographs of skinscapes are transformed with delicate flower cutouts, graphite, and empty spaces. These elements invite the viewer to look through layers, whether through the canvas or colored acetates, to reveal how scars and shadows become thresholds for light to enter. The flowers, symbolizing growth and renewal, contrast with the raw marks of the skin, highlighting the delicate interplay between healing and vulnerability. This work reflects how our wounds—physical and emotional—become the starting points for awareness, where light illuminates hidden depths and new perspectives on identity and transformation.
